Business Booms as Successful Partnership is Established
Specialising in beauty products, Prestige Touch Ltd., suppliers of luxury goods, has been working with leading Hampshire-based disability charity Enham Trust’s onsite Social Enterprise, Enham 3PL, for 2 years.
Formally Enham Packaging and Storage (EPAS), Enham 3PL offers a full third party logistics (3PL) solution that includes storage, contract packing by hand, and a range of simple operations, many that machines can’t achieve. Enham 3PL currently runs 10 production lines and a variety of mechanised handling equipment to offer just-in-time third party logistics.
Providing a first-class fulfilment service to four large home shopping mail order groups – JD Williams, Very, Express Gifts, and Grattans – Prestige Touch, with Enham 3PL, ensures online orders are picked, packaged and shipped ready for next day delivery, operating as the biggest supplier of fragrance to these four groups.
A growing success
Originally an external company, Prestige Touch has recently partnered with the charity’s successful Social Enterprise in a venture that has seen the business grow by 20 – 30% since May 2015; with 13 workers based onsite.
“We knew of Enham 3PL because of their history, packaging candles,” David Bickell, Director of Prestige Touch, explains. “At the time, our business was growing and we were struggling to employ, in order to fulfil our commitments. Enham 3PL had a great reputation; therefore we wanted to explore our options with them.”
Originally based at Weyhill in Andover, once the working relationship had been established, Prestige Touch was delivering up to 4,000 units a week to Enham 3PL for packaging.
“Travelling back and forth between the 2 companies with so much stock, so often, after a time just didn’t seem viable,” continues David. “It made sense for us to move into the same building and work together.”
Creating a partnership
In May 2015, Enham 3PL and Prestige Touch officially became partners, moving together into newly renovated, larger premises on site at Enham Trust in Enham Alamein.
“Since we moved into Montgomery House business has gone mad,” David exclaims. “Both Enham Trust and ourselves put time, effort and finances into the renovation of the premises and the new venture, solidifying what we consider to be a very successful partnership. In the last year we have increased the number of units we handle by 3000 a week, and in only 3 months since the move, the business has grown by 20 – 30%.”
Working with a Social Enterprise
As a Social Enterprise of Enham Trust, Enham 3PL makes a valuable contribution to the success of the charity and provides the Trust’s disabled and disadvantaged clients with sustained employment opportunities, supporting Enham Trust’s vital work; ensuring people living with disabilities can live as independently as possible.
“It’s great to work, on a long term partnership basis, bringing new business to a valuable Social Enterprise,” Remarks David. “I would like to see more local companies using Social Enterprises.”
A bright future together
With business booming, this is a successful partnership with a bright future.
"This is very much a long term commitment,” David states. “We work both with and on behalf of Enham Trust. We’re actively seeking more work for Enham 3PL. We see ourselves as the ‘sales team’ behind the Enterprise!
“We’re very proud to be a partner of Enham 3PL.”
